Broke My Ankle

Hey everyone. So I've been down for the count this past week. Last Friday night I went out to karaoke and had an absolute blast. There was drinking, dancing, flirting, and shooting down over eager advances. Because really guys, really? No. Just no. I get naked for a living. Sometimes I just want to party with my girls.

So after karaoke a couple of friends and I went for a walk. I was fucking haaaaaammered. So after some drunken shennanigans overlooking the river I fell from five fucking feet flat on my face, tore my shirt shredded my bra, ripped apart my headphones and fractured my ankle! Fractured my ankle!!

So I finally make it home after some carrying, crawling, tears, cussing, you know the usual. Call my mom and get whisked to the emergency room. So at this point I still think that I've just sprained my ankle. I've never broken a bone in my life and I wasn't about to start now.

Of course whenever I do something you know I have to do it with style! So I woke up from sleeping in emerge in between x-rays and CAT scans and the doctor tells me. "So you've fractured your ankle in a very rare spot, right in the rotator. We have to perform surgery on it. If it gets any worse it could cut of circulation to your foot. Your body will then think your foot it dead and you will get vascular necrosis. Which would lead to your losing your foot."
That's right, the doctor woke me up and told me that I could lose. My. Foot!

Mondays aren't usually much of an issue for me. Working from home usually means that if I want to take a Monday off then I do, no problem. Today was one of those Mondays that I could just feel was going to be pretty questionable before I even opened my eyes. Q) Is this a membership site where we get charged every month?

Ok, so around the beginning of February I got to go to a fantastic semi-formal company dinner out of town (not my company obviously hahaha) but they put us up in a lovely hotel with dinner in the ballroom. There was a hypnotist, dj, and prize givaway that included things like massive stereo systems, big screen tvs and wonderful trips for two.

Then the limo whisked us away to go clubbing (VIP obviously since I dont't DO lines) and inside I met the new club promoter who adored me and let me go play in the reserved section of the vip area with all the pretty white banquet chairs and tables were over looking the dance floor. Hmmm why did I not take photos for you guys?? Hmmm, I blame the crown royal, I totally forgot to take pics,lol. So now I have an open ended VIP invitation for me and 20 of my friends whenever I want to go clubbing there. Honestly though, the club wasn't THAT great, so i can't see myself going back any time soon because... I've had better, lol. I had fun though.

I got an iPod touch for Valentines Day though. It's sooo cute, and SUPER addictive, lol. So that's what I've beet tweeting you guys from. Oh and then yesterday a super sweetheart gave me an iPod dock to hook up to the tv. So yaaaay, now I can play all my iPod tunes through my tv because as I mentioned (did I mention earlier?) I got some awesome surround sound put up in my living room so now I can blast my tunes, or stream video I downloaded to my iPod through my tv, yaaaaaay! Way to keep me constantly entertained guys, so very awesome!

Lazy Mondays

So I was going through comments that had been left on my blog while I was away and I found one in my spam box that was.... well I will call it interesting.

Supposedly I am a money hungry phycho bitch. Which I find truly interesting because I didn't realize that simply wanting to keep a roof over my head, put some money away for retirement, keep food on the table and buy a new pair of shoes qualified me as being "money addicted". I mean, I thought that was just simply trying to pay my bills. Aren't we all just trying to pay our bills.

Also I found out that if my boyfriend benefits from the money I make from camming that makes him my pimp. Ummmm, no? If he benefitted from my job at a clothing store or from being a councillor would that also make the guy I was dating my pimp? Fleeting Moments

It is a truth universally known that you need to either shit or get off the fucking pot.

I was just shopping on Amazon.com, a very regular and enjoyable pastime for me, spending my birthday gift cards with abandon. And at the moment of truth (the final checkout)... I stopped. I froze. I needed to know. Is this the right thing to do? Is there a better option? Cheaper, faster, easier? And by that I don't mean on amazon, I mean that I was offered to get my web cam replaced...

Lies lies lies, aaaarg! If I can't write the truth about myself then who CAN I write the truth about?

The truth is more dramatic and entertaining anyway. So here it is, I got completely screwed.

My boyfriend smashed my web cam into a million pieces, took scissors to the cord, smashed it on the wood floor, and was going to throw it off the balcony. It was completely destroyed, so I have been unable to cam. I am not amused... I need more wine for this, be right back...

So the boyfriend smashed my web cam to pieces, hates my job and everything about it. Hates not having every ounce of me to himself. But no one has ever gotten me all to themselves, and to be honest... no one ever will. They can't, I won't let them, I know this and the sooner he realizes it the better it is.

So he felt horribly guilty about smashing my cam and cussing out me and my job and offered to buy me a new camera. But this web cam feels like it has been a long time coming and will take even longer. So today I said screw his apology, screw his paying me back, and screw my having to wait to get back to work until he can afford it. So because I got some extra money today I decided to buy my camera myself.

And then when it cam to the final checkout I stopped, I froze. Should I get it myself or would it be better to just wait for him to get me the camera like he said he would? And I sat there thinking, thinking and just not sure what to do and suddenly the page reset itself because there was a price change and suddenly the camera I wanted with the shipping speed I chose was out of my price range.

I stalled and the moment was gone. My choice was taken away from me. An outside force changed the rules and there was no going back. It was like a slap in the face. Shit or get off the fucking pot. I have been to undecided for too long. SO I went back, changed it back to standard shipping and clicked send.

If he wants to show his support than he can do it in a more deffinitive way than simply replacing the web cam he broke.

Life is fleeting. Moments are fleeting. The years pass by and then it's done. Sometimes I think that I may expect to much. That my constant wanting is unrealistic. It's My Birthday and I'll Blog If I Want To

Happy birthday to meeee! I am officially 24 today and I feel... nothing. Normally I like to have a huge blow out of a birthday party but not this year. This year it was a small party with only my nearest and dearest. Like any true diva I spent my Saturday night being toasted and fawned over by my best friends. There was a fantastic bbq dinner, a hot tub packed so full that it was actually overflowing (but only on one side which is how we learned that the hot tub wasn't quite level), and enough flowing wine to make me consider building an ark big enough to rival even Noah's.

It was most definately one of the best birthday parties I have ever had. Absolutely brilliant.

Today though is my actual birthday and I'm spending it alone. Well not completely alone, I'm with Monty, he is a very tiny fur ball of a dog, hahaha. So he is napping on his fuzzy cushion and I am having a lovely glass of merlot, watching movies on satellite, and taking this Monday one day at a time. School Daze

Yaaay, I can't believe it I can't believe it, I got in! I, Aria DeLaunay have been accepted into a very selective specialized writing school. Only one third of applicants pass their application test and I did, I got in and was invited to enroll.

So enrolled I have, tuition down payment is in the mail, and I will soon be on my way to a career of literary genius. I'm actually really excited. The idea of going back to school has never thrilled me but I do love the idea of going to a specialized school for something that I do ever day anyway. I would love to be a professional novelist. The next Nora Roberts, or Katie MacKalister, now that would be fantastic. That's right, pop culture novelists, *shrug*, what can I say, I don't want to write the next great Canadian/American novel, I want to write for the masses. I want to write fun fiction.

And there is nothing wrong with fun fiction! They make people happy, give people something interesting to think about, I want to write something that will rival the popularity of Harry Potter and Twilight combined. Ummm with the emphasis more on Harry Potter because Twilight is... well I'm just going to stop right there before I get an angry mob of pubescent girls hurling rocks through my windows. I would love to create that kind of phenomenon though. That would just be... neat.

Lurkers

Ah lurkers. They are like the cam girl version of the stage workers non-tippers up at perv row...

I love being a cam girl. I love the freedom. I love getting to dress up and I love getting to work in my own home. What I love a lot less is my lurkers. Lurkers are the guys that come into our chat rooms and just sit there. They don't get shows, sometimes they don't even speak to you, they just come in and hang out...forever.

Now depending on which camsite you're on this can be a real piss off because they see all the flashes, dances, and goodies that the other interactive guys in the room have tipped you for. These guys don't even say hi, they just sit there and wank. Personally if you're going to be wanking off to me, I damn well want to be getting paid for it but they act like having you put on a free show for them is their right.

Another type of lurker are the guys that havn't even bothered to take the 2 minutes to create an account with the site, so their name just comes up as something like "Guest123456". They have no money to spend on you and never plan on adding any or buying any shows, and yet they sit there yelling things like, "Tits! Show us your tits!" or "Get naked!" or "Come on baby, pussy!" While they sit in your free room. Have you boys lost your damn minds? If a guy hasn't even bothered to set up an accpunt with a site but just popped online and starts yelling at girls to flash him the goods he deserves to get cut down.

Unfortunately (though fortunately for me) not all sites are created equal. Some allow you to kick these fools from your room, while others make you listen to their crap.

Luckily for me though, I have a kick/ban button and I'm not afraid to use it. You have been warned.

Ahh l'amour! These two have known each other for about 6 months. She moved into his little house after about 1 month of knowing each other and then 5 months later it's china patterns and seafoam green bridesmaid dresses.

This is a girl I went to school with. Someone I watched grow, change and graduate. The Art of Man Juggling...

Is most definately not something my best friend has ever mastered. Oh not even a little bit. Last night we went out for a girl's night out. We hadn't had a chance to hang out since her birthday so I decided to hold off camming in order to do my best-friendly duty to her in her time of need. Which meant I had to get sexified and leave the comfort of my snuggly couch, which is quite the hardship when all you want to do is laze around in your underwear and have a Friday the 13th movie marathon. And then it all just kind of went pfffffft.

This girl is just no good at handling her men I tell ya. We ended up with both the guys she is sleeping with at the same club trying to trade off on her every couple of songs seeing which one would be alowed to out-grope the other. Eventually she just couldn't take any more and ditched one, cutting him right off. Hehehe now BFF is a darling freckly English/Irish background and when she blushes she goes up like a fire engine. Poor thing was absolutely mortified to be in such a position, absolutely embarassing. She knows I love her but I laughed my ass off. If you are going to go about not only have both of the guys you are playing with not only in the same club as one another but actually meet each other and get into a pissing contest over you then you had better be prepared to handle the consequences. Pulling something like this off successfully and being able to keep them both is not for the faint of heart.

So much to do, so much to do! Twittering, blogging, photoshoots to set up with my photographer, websites to build. I am going to be doing TONS of camming over the Labour Day weekend, yaaaaaay. I can't wait to have some serious fun. I have so much research to do on setting up my own website.

Networking and promoing is TONS of work, don't ever let anyone tell you any different. Is it fun? Yes. Is it better than working a desk job? Hell yes! And this is why you will never hear me complaining about it.

Got Drugged

Fuck you boys an your sneaky underhanded ways of trying to get what you want.

So Saturday night was an amazing night. Went out with a girlfriend of mine to go dancing. We don't get a chance to hang out with one another very often so after some black magic, animal sacrifice, desperate prayer and sexual bribes we were very excited to have our scheduals actually align on a Saturday night.

Girls glared, boys drooled, we danced. And then it all kind of went downhill a bit. I got drugged. Some asshole drugged me! I have no idea who it was or how it happened. There were guys flocked around us all night so narrowing it down is rather impossible.

It was NOT a fun night for me once I got home. Thankfully I got home alright before it all kicked in and racked me over the coals. I actually ended up spending the entire day on the couch yesterday recovering.

This is going to be a short post as I am still just really pissed about the whole thing. Bastards. There will be a very large entry on the subject of druggings to follow.

Writing School?

      Breathing, beathing, trying to breathe, because not even I can make hyperventilization look sexy. It's times like these that I wish I could but that's just not going to happen any time soon, so I need to calm down.

    You're probably wondering what on earth could have possibly flapped the unflappable Aria. Well I'll tell you. My literary future. That's right, Aria has a literary future...I hope.

    Today I sent in an application and writing sample to a specialized writing school. They have sent me the application 3 or 4 times now and every time I chicken out at the very end. This has been going on for about 2 years now.
Embarassing, I know.

     I love writing. Of all the crazy adventures and dreams that I've had over the years I have never put down my pen. The fear that I may have messed up my test and be rejected from the school is overwhelming and terrifying. To allow an outside entity a chance to say , "We don't care if this is what you love to do, you're not good enough to do it here," enter the hyperventilization.

    If I am rejected will it stop me from writing? No, of course not. One rejection letter does not stop a writer's career in it's tracks, at least not one with any gumption. But I know me, and if I allow myself to think about it i will obsess and freak myself right out. So I am going to try to just forget it. It's in the mail, there's no getting it back, it's done.

    I should get my results letter in two to three weeks so cross your fingers and wish me luck. I'll keep you all posted when the reply comes!

Vampires vs Werewolves and I DON'T Mean Twilight

Ok, before any of you teenyboppers get all excited thinking about how exciting andother Edward vs Jacob rant would be, I just want to say. So I'm watching Van Helsing ( and I don't care what anyone says, I know it's not Hugh Jackman's best work, but it's HUGH JACKMAN so who CARES?) and I have to say once again I'm all for the vampires.

In the neverending war of Vamps vs. Were(insert apropriate animal here) I am for Vamps every time. They're just so sexy! Ok, not so much the puffy bun-head ones from Nosforatu though, they kind of kill the dream.

But really I would kill for the power to be able to seduce men and women alike and get them to do my bidding... oh hey I already have that power! Go boobs go!

There are certain things that I like to hear when I pick up the phone. Some of them are:
"Aria, I just won an all inclusive trip to Paris for two and I want you to come with me!"
or
"You are the grand grand prize winner of (insert amazing sweepstakes that I entered here)."
or even
"Aria, I booked the day off of work. You, me, picnic in the park. I'll bring everything, you just bring your sexy self."

Things that I do NOT need to hear being yelled in my ear at the early partying hour of 11pm on a Friday night:
"I'm sorry, oh my god I'm so sorry, I just tried to make out with your best friend!"
It's baby brother. And he's drunk off his ass.

Apperantly he bumped into my best friend at the local strip club and of course being bulstered by booze and the fact that he is now a few months into being 20 years old he felt manly enough to make his move.
Wow, was he wrong.

What you need to understand is that this is creepy verging on incestuous ( no not REALLY but STILL). Baby brother is practically my best friends baby brother as well seeing as she first met him when he was 9 freakin' years old! He is four years younger than us. This my darlings just didn't fly.

My baby brother is fantastic and I love him but the thought of him anywhere near my best friend is enough to make me want to throw up in my mouth a little.
Which of course causes serious problems as I am also trying not to choke on my laughter while I simultaniously bang my head against the wall, listening to his drunken ramblings of,
"I'm going to marry her and make her my wife..."
Over and over and over...
No doubt he will die of shame once the hangover lightens up.

I don't know what my brother has been drinking but I think that I may want some. Of course there are also two things that I have learned never to drink with my brother ever again during our brother/sister bonding moments. Those would be tequila and absinthe. Movies get WAY too funny (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is funny, but it's not THAT funny) and I crash WAY too many expensive cars. Seriously, have you ever tried to play Forza 2 for XBox 360 after a night of serious drinking? Does. Not. Work. Now THAT would make for some great anti-drinking and driving footage right there.

OM frickin' G. I've done it, I've ACTUALLY done it. I've join the ranks of the twitterfied. I have been puting this moment off from the very first time that I heard of twitter. I dug in my heels, enough was enough. God damn networking sites...

Years ago it was Hi5, everyone wanted you to join them on Hi5. And then it was "Screw Hi5 come join me on MySpace". So after a while I toddled on over to join all my friends on MySpace. Then the next thing you know my inbox came down with a viral plague of "So-and-so that you barely know and don't give a piss about wants you to join them on Facebook". NO! Screw you internet, you lie! Why? Why must you keep toying with my fragile emotions and my need to connect and internet stalk people that I don't even really like enough to pick up the phone and call? So I said no to Facebook. But of course like all the rest, I gave in. I gave in and became addicted. There was just so much to DO. Check out funny bumber stickers, play Vampires vs. Werewolves, have my friends buy and sell me for virtual money and keep me as a pet, read page after beautiful page of hilarious Buffy the Vampire Slayer quotes, it was INSANE and I loved every second of it.

And then along came Twitter. Sweeping across the vast interweb landscape like a super charged brushfire. Sweeping up innocent celebrities and commoners alike. No one luft untouched. To not be a tweeter was to feel the cold clammy hand of social death caress the back of your neck. Succumb, or be no one! Moahahaha!

Ugggg hangovers, I swear to god they are the universe's way of punishing me for having an amazing time. And whose stupid idea was it anyway for me to get back into the life of tequila* enduced crime? Jose Cuervo is NOT tequila by the way. It's Satan's unholy piss I swear to god.
I'm telling you right now that doing cartweels in a mini skirt and combat boots when you're drunk off your ass while fun is....actually no that's about it, it is really REALLY FUN. And it was funny as hell trying to explain to my boyfriend and his best friend how to do a proper cartwheel. Hahaha I lined them up like a cute little gymnast squad and made them cartwheel in line. It was priceless.

*Just a note about tequila. If you have problems doing tequila shots a great chaser is mayple syrup. No lie, maple frickin syrup. It completely kills the lingering ick taste and leaves your mouth coated in sweet yummy goodness.
